Art Lab After-School Ages 4.5 to 9 Pickup Available from PS 84, CE Montessori, and Brooklyn Arbor Program Hours: 3:00 to 5:30 PM Step into Art Lab After-School , an elevated studio experience designed for kids ages 4.5 to 9 who are ready to deepen their creativity, experiment with new techniques, and work in a more independent, emergent art studio setting. This afterschool program encourages kids to brainstorm, explore, collaborate, and create in a space that feels like a true working art lab. We also listened closely to our current artists, who have shared with their teachers how much they love the idea of developing their own collaborative focus as they grow and learn together as a group. This feedback has shaped Art Lab in a beautiful way, giving kids ownership, agency, and a voice in the direction of our studio projects. During programming, children dive into open-ended, process-based projects shaped by their interests. They will explore a wide range of elevated mediums including mixed-media collage, painting, sculpture, clay work, printmaking, weaving, upcycled art, installation building, design challenges, and collaborative group pieces. With a focus on artistic voice and self-expression, kids are encouraged to take creative risks, problem-solve, and proudly share their ideas. What Makes Art Lab Special A more independent, big-kid studio flow Choice-based stations and long-form projects Opportunities to brainstorm, plan, and revisit work Encouraging guidance from experienced teaching artists A collaborative environment where friendships and ideas grow Child voice and group interests help shape the direction of the studio Weather permitting, children enjoy outdoor time to reset, move, and decompress before or after focused studio work. Is your little one, between the ages of 2-3 years old , ready to embark on a delightful learning adventure? Our Pre-K Prep class, thoughtfully inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, offers a wonderfully dynamic blend of fun and discovery, designed to truly ignite their natural curiosity and gently prepare them for the exciting world of early education through art ! We focus on nurturing autonomy and social-emotional development , providing a supportive environment for your child to explore independently and connect with peers. We are thrilled to announce that our classes will be back this Fall , Tuesdays and Wednesdays running from September 9th until the week of December 15th , and now Thursdays begining October 9th, with the program now scheduled from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM , giving your child even more time to explore and grow! Parents are required to stay in the building during class, but if your child seems ready to explore independently among peers, we encourage you to relax in our cafe while class is in session. You can actually catch up on emails, texts, chat with fellow parents, or just enjoy a nice quiet moment with a coffee in hand! After our engaging group activities, we'll enjoy snack together. Rest assured, all snacks will strictly adhere to our studio's nut, peanut, and sesame free policy , and we'll always take into account any other allergies or restrictions specific to students and adults in our class. This is also a fantastic option to seamlessly enhance their current part-time nursery or Pre-K programs . We can't wait to build a wonderful community with you and bridge the gap from home to the studio!!

Mini-Artists Afterschool January 5 – June 11 Ages: 3K & Pre-K (3s and 4s) PS 84 Pickup Available Give your little one a joyful, creative end to their school day! Our Mini-Artists Afterschool program blends process-based art, hands-on crafting, child-led exploration, and gentle transitions to create a warm and inspiring afternoon for your artists! Children will explore a beautiful variety of art mediums throughout the semester painting, collage, clay, stamping, crafting, sensory materials, seasonal projects, and collaborative creations. Our focus is always on exploration over perfection, helping kids build confidence, independence, and friendships in a nurturing environment. When weather and safety conditions allow, we enjoy outdoor time before or after our art projects to help the children reset, move their bodies, and enjoy fresh air with friends. Welcome to Our New 3-Hour Open Studio Sessions! We've heard your feedback and are excited to announce a new way to play! We've replaced our one-hour time slots with a more relaxed and flexible three-hour open studio session. We hope this makes it easier for you and your family to enjoy some creative time without the stress of a tight schedule. You can now arrive and leave anytime between 9am and 12pm on session days. Escape the cold and rain with a cozy, creative activity! Our 3-hour open studio sessions are the perfect fit for a parent or caretaker and a child ( 12 months and up ) to explore and create together. For just $28 per child , your little one gets a full morning of artistic fun in a warm and inviting space. These sessions are held on Mondays , Thursdays, and Fridays . Space is limited, especially as the weather gets colder, so be sure to book your spot in advance! What to Expect at Our Open Studio Our studio is a vibrant space designed for children and their families to explore, create, and connect. Here's a glimpse of what makes our open studio so special: Creative Freedom: Your child can dive into open-ended exploration in a free-play environment, following their own curiosity and pace. There's no rigid schedule or structured activities—just pure, free-flowing creativity. Structured Creativity: A dedicated teaching artist will be on hand to guide an optional, intentional creation project . This offers a wonderful chance to enjoy a more structured activity within the free-play setting. Variety of Materials: Discover a wide range of art materials and sensory experiences to inspire new ideas and projects. Family Fun: These sessions are all about shared creativity and making lasting memories with your little one. It's the perfect opportunity to unplug and enjoy quality time together. Important Information to Know Cost: The price is $28 per child for the entire three-hour session. Class Time: All open studio sessions run from 9am to 12pm . Booking: We require an RSVP to ensure we don't exceed our limited capacity. Please reserve your spot on a first-come, first-served basis via Sawyer registration. You can book as many days as you'd like. Supervision: Please note that these are not drop-off sessions . A parent or guardian must stay with their child(ren) throughout the entire session. Messy Fun: Creativity can be messy! We encourage you to dress in clothes you don't mind getting messy , and packing an extra set of clothes is always a great idea.
