A quiet, mostly residential corner of Queens, South Richmond Hill sits just south of Liberty Avenue, a long commercial strip lined with roti shops, Indo-Caribbean groceries, and corner stores that give the area a distinctly neighborhood feel. The housing stock is largely single-family homes, which means sidewalks are calmer and stroller-navigable even if there's no dedicated trail network. For outdoor time with a toddler, a couple of local playgrounds are scattered through the residential streets, and Forest Park, one of the largest green spaces in Queens at over 500 acres, is just to the north.
