About this event

Please join us in-person at the Riverdale Library for a memoir writing workshop with published playwright and writer/performer Frank Ingrasciotta. Storytelling is our most ancient art form, and in us, everyone has a story that wants to be told. When powerful storytelling resonates, it creates shared experiences of commonality that bonds us as a community. In this eight-session memoir writing class, we will examine various aspects of storytelling. Through writing exercises, we explore the tools of the craft that brings personal memoir to life. About the Artist FRANK INGRASCIOTTA (Actor/ Playwright/ Director/ Educator) is a published playwright and writer/performer of the acclaimed Off-Broadway solo play Blood Type: RAGU. As an actor, Frank has performed in many theatre productions. On TV and film, he played multiple roles on daytime dramas as well as featured roles in the award-winning SAG films Figs for Italo and Brooklyn in July that can presently be viewed on AMAZON Prime. On stage, he has directed many local and regional theatre productions. Frank has been a teaching artist for over 25 years conducting workshops in acting and creative writing with diverse populations.. He holds a Theatre Arts‑in‑Education degree from SUNY Empire State College. This program is for adults. This is a workshop series and attendance at all sessions is strongly encouraged. Each workshop runs for two hours. Registration is required. Due to limited space, participants will be selected via a lottery system and be notified if they are selected. No prior experience is required. Participants are welcome to bring their own laptop or writing pads. Pens and notebooks will be provided, if needed. To register, please call the Riverdale Branch during open hours at 718-549-1212.
