Creative Aging: Book Art: Fold, Cut, Sew! at West Farms Library

Explore your artistic potential with Creative Aging, a series of art workshops for adults 50 and older. This program will be held in person at West Farms Library. Program Description: Have you ever wanted to learn how to Make a Book? How to bind the book, fold the paper- create the object of a book? Well here's your chance! Join Artist, Jennifer Verbit in this 8 week exploration of what is a book. You will use paper and learn how to fold, cut and sew several variations under the umbrella of Book Art; while also incorporating historic decorative elements. Some structures that you will learn are accordion, pop-up, and exposed stitching. Some decorative elements that you will get to play with are paper weaving, stamping, heat embossing, and crayon resist with watercolor.
