About this event

This event will take place in person at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (455 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10016), 1st Floor, Corner Space. ¡Hola! ¿Te gusta hablar español? Join the staff of the New York Public Library and other fellow Spanish speakers for an hour of Spanish conversation. This group is at the intermediate and advanced level. Registration is recommended. You don't need a library card to register, only an email address. Register for each session you wish to attend. All programs are subject to changes or cancellation. For free events, we generally overbook to ensure programs are filled. Priority will be given to those who have registered in advance, but registration does not guarantee admission. All registered places are released shortly before start time. A standby line will form at least 15 minutes before the program.

Participants can showcase their original work and practice performing in front of a live audience. Show up on time to get a slot to perform! The following gear will be available for performers to use during the workshop: microphones, stands, cables, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, electric guitar amp, bass amp, keyboard Community Guidelines The Community Music-Sharing Workshop is a program for adults to gather and share original compositions and appreciate others’ creative work. This is a safe space to present works in progress and final works. Participants agree to respectfully listen and appreciate others’ performances without interruption. This event will take place in person at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library, Room 304. The card game of Bridge requires four people to play: two teams of two people. Join us with your bridge partner, or we will try to match you with someone to play as a pair. If you would like to learn how to play bridge, we can offer some instruction, and you can observe others. This event will be held on the third floor in Room 304. Assistive listening devices and/or hearing loops are available at the venue. You can request a free ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation or CART (Communication Access Real-Time Translation) captioning service by emailing your request at least two weeks in advance of the event: email accessibility@nypl.org. This event will take place in person at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library, Room 303. OMG! Origami at SNFL is a group for people to come together and share in the beautiful art of Origami - an ancient art of folding various mediums, most commonly paper. The word comes from the combination of the Japanese verb oru (to fold) and the noun kami (paper). Other materials often folded are fabric, wire mesh, sheet metal, tissue, thin plastic, cardboard, and straws. We meet as a group to teach each other new models and share paper, books, and tips. This meeting is free and open to all level of folders from beginner to advanced. There will be free paper available to share. You may choose to bring your own paper and books and just show up and fold! If you have models you would like to learn, or teach, let us know and we will try our best to accommodate.
