About this event

This intermediate level class is ideal for students who have taken at least 2-3 years of modern or contemporary classes. Students will continue to build strength and control, refining their release, groundedness, suspension, improvisation, movement qualities, and spatial awareness. Students will learn how to use technical skills and apply them to stylized movement. Note that this is an open Dancewave Company Program class, all are welcome to join. A fun introduction to ballet for movers of all levels! Ballet Fundamentals introduces young dancers to the joys and principles of ballet in an inclusive and supportive environment. Students will develop knowledge of and practice with ballet terminology, body alignment, appropriate turn out, coordination, and flexibility. Along with building strength and poise, students will explore their artistry through musicality and developmentally appropriate technical skills. We recommend taking this class in conjunction with our Contemporary Fundamentals/Creative Modern Ensemble offering on Tuesday's to enhance skill building, creative choice-making, and teamwork, with an opportunity for performance!
