After you apply we will reach out to invite you to a school tour). You're considering a French immersion preschool. Congratulations! Not just because bilingualism is a gift though it is but because how your child spends these early years matters enormously. The experiences they have now, the way adults show up for them, the environment they're held in, all of it shapes who they're becoming. The Language and Laughter Studio has been that environment for New York City families for over 18 years. Here's what we believe: children don't need to be pushed to learn. They need to feel safe enough to be curious. When a child feels connected to their teachers, to their classmates, to the space they're in, learning happens naturally, joyfully, and deeply. That's true for French. That's true for everything. Our classrooms are warm, structured, and alive. Children build real fluency in French through stories, play, relationships, and the thousand small moments of a real school day. We also take children outside into parks, into nature where they figure things out for themselves. And because we know that school doesn't stop at the door, we've built a real community. Through our partnership with L'Alliance New York, Francophone artists and performers come directly into our space. Nearly all of our graduates move on to Dual Language Elementary programs in public and private schools across New York City, ready, rooted, and fluent. Our school serves children ages 1 to 5 with four distinct classrooms: Les Tous Petits - Ages 1-2 La Petite Section - Ages 2-3 La Moyenne Section - Ages 3-4 La Grande Section - Ages 4-5 The school day runs from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Families have the option of adding Early Drop Off (8:30am to 9:30am) and Atelier (2:30pm to 4:00 or 5:00pm) to extend their child's school day as they wish.
