I n this program, we follow four primary areas that provide the foundation for learning and development in a Montessori classroom. Practical life activities are designed to mirror real-life experiences that children will encounter in their daily lives. The Sensorial area of the Montessori classroom is designed to develop children’s skills in perception and discrimination. It includes live music and art. The Language area of the Montessori classroom builds early literacy skills by providing varied opportunities for children to develop communication skills and phonetic awareness. The Math area of the Montessori classroom is characterized by concrete, hands-on materials that encourage children to recognize numbers and quantity. With adult-led activities, we expand and develop your child's cognitive, social, emotional, communication, fine motor, gross motor, adaptive and sensory skills. The Little Explorer Level 2 program was designed to offer our young students everything they need at their developmental stage in one place. Children all develop at different paces, and they have different strengths and interests. While in a traditional education every child in the class must follow one path set out by the teacher, a Montessori education follows the individual child's interests using observation. Every activity, including transitions between activities, facilitates exploration as we teach your child to solve problems, understand and use language, explore his or her surroundings, develop hand-eye coordination and increase attention span and memory.
