The last Saturday of each month families can gather at CFF for stories and music while they browse for their next favorite read. Storytime from 11am to 11:45am in the children's section. Followed by arts and crafts hour right outside from 12-1pm. Seating and craft supplies first come, first served.

When school is out, Pixie Pods Summer camp is in! During summer camps, kids will be split into small groups of ages 4-6 and 6-8. Join us every Friday for a 4pm Pixie Pods Showcase where students show their families what they have been working on all week. Each camp day has a steady rhythm of play, enrichment classes, and games. What makes Pixie Pods special is how we care about the whole child. Our instructors meet kids where they are, celebrate effort over perfection, and create a space where every camper feels seen, supported, and proud of what they can do. Pixie Pods kids always leave smiling and never want to leave! Week 10: Lil Beatz Hip-Hop Camp (Dino Theme) Get ready to bust some dance moves! Our Hip-hop syllabus will introduce the kiddos to the fun & funky world of street and cultural dance! Lil Beatz classes include original music/choreography specifically designed for kids! With these classes, we build on our hip hop moves, providing structured classes with set routines. Your child will have so much fun exploring the different styles of street dance, with a syllabus that has your child dancing and singing along! This ensemble will jump into the rehearsal process with a focus on story creation and scripted scene study. We meet each actor where they are, and build a company of skilled performers; centering bravery, imagination and truthfulness. Improvisation and theater games help stoke creativity, develop the company and the spirit of play. Taught by master teachers and performers at the top of their field, kids learn skills that will serve them the rest of their creative lives. Camp culminates in a live performance for families on Friday afternoon. The students of Asimov Elementary are presenting their science fiction projects to compete in the annual SCIENCE FICTION SCIENCE FAIR. Time Travel! Evil Robots! Mind Control! A ficus with the voice of an angel! But when the fight for first place threatens to topple the school, can they put their brilliant heads together to save the school (and also the space-time continuum)??!! It’s immersive! It’s musical! It’s SCI-FI FAIR! In this original scripted play by Brandon Zelman, kids work on scenes, explore character back stories, and craft their own science fair projects. The show is performed live on Friday, September 4. Fort Greene camps meet at 138 South Oxford Street, with visits to South Oxford Playground.

This lapsit story time for infants who are not yet crawling or walking features songs, readings, and rhymes! Babies/toddlers who are crawling or walking should only register for Toddler Times. Only lapsit babies will be admitted into this program. Walking and crawling babies will NOT be admitted. Thank you for your cooperation. Join us for story time! We will be singing songs, learning rhymes, and reading books together. Grownups, please read! Space is limited and registration is required. NEW: Registration opens 48HR before the program. There is no waitlist for the program. There are two program time options so that more people can attend the program. Please only sign up for ONE program per week. Please check in at the programming room door when you arrive. The storytime room will open 5 minutes before the program begins. If your child is antsy or crying, you are welcome to take a break and return to the program room when your child has calmed down. Please be courteous to others in the class, participate in the songs and rhymes, and keep conversation to a minimum. There is a ten minute grace period and then no late comers will be permitted.
