Hogwarts School (Fort Greene)

Mon, Aug 3 · 9:15 AM

South Oxford Space · Fort Greene

This ensemble jumps into the rehearsal process with a focus on original story creation and scripted scene study. We meet each actor where they are, and build a company of skilled performers; centering bravery, imagination and truthfulness. Improvisation and theater games help stoke creativity, develop the company and the spirit of play. Taught by master teachers and performers at the top of their field, kids learn skills that will serve them the rest of their creative lives. Camp culminates in a live performance for families on Friday afternoon. Join us as we use the “magic” of theater to explore this Wizarding World. Using the Harry Potter series as a springboard, we will generate original stories as well as rehearse scripted scenes from the films. Students will get to hone their improv skills as they create scenes based on their favorite iconic characters or imagine new ones in this magical world. In addition to the acting work, we’ll play games of Quidditch, make spell books and compete for the House Cup. Jump on your Firebolt and let’s play! Camp culminates in a performance of scripted scenes on Friday, August 7th at 2:30p. Fort Greene camps meet at 138 South Oxford Street, with visits to South Oxford Playground.
