About this event

This creative writing class invites students to harness the power of their imaginations through storytelling. Over the course of the term, students will develop and complete a short story, practicing self-expression and imagination while building foundational craft skills that will support them as writers moving forward. In class, students will also explore a range of storytelling forms, including comics and zine-making, as well as poetic forms such as the sonnet and haiku. A gentle, supportive workshop environment will help students develop essential workshopping skills, allowing them to refine how they communicate their own ideas and engage thoughtfully with the ideas of others. The goal of this class is to empower each writer to explore their projects with excitement and confidence, providing them with baseline skills to hone their craft and move forward as creative, imaginative, and empowered writers.
