About this event
Our camp takes place outdoors in Fort Greene Park and in our beautiful school at 462 Vanderbilt Avenue , where our caring, experienced teachers create a joyful, immersive French environment. Every year, summer camp is an opportunity to collectively refresh our ways of being together and teaching. The summer camp model is based on its own unique time and space, but also on a team that is partly renewed by welcoming new counselors, giving children the chance to interact with their teachers as well as new playmates and partners. It's about discovering things in a continuous way, both in terms of activities and the team! Our weekly sessions engage children in French through play, art, music, storytelling, and hands-on science. Our main goal is to spark joy, creativity, and language development through fresh experiences and exploration. You’re free to sign up for just one week, several weeks, or all six—whatever fits your family’s summer plans! Who Can Attend: Children ages 3 to 8 (with prior school experience), regardless of French proficiency. Children ages 1–2, already enrolled at LLS, are eligible to register as well. Schedule & Dates: Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM, with optional extended day from 2:30-4:00pm (if we have enough interest). Thematic Weeks: Each week highlights a different theme, helping children develop a deep respect and love for their environment. Why Choose French Nature Camp? Outdoor Exploration & Hands-On Learning: Children climb trees, explore uneven terrain, and observe the sky, clouds, and wind—all while immersed in French. Week 1: À la loupe! Les grandes petites choses de ce monde Focus: Let’s bring our attention to the smallest of things, to look, take time, take care, and find out what big things the smallest things have to say about our world.
