Thursday After School Creating with Nature collaboration with Green Magic Workshop

Thu, Apr 30 · 3:00 PM

Willow Nest Studio · Windsor Terrace

A Willow Nest Studio and Green Magic Workshop Collaboration where science meets art and imagination blossoms. Children explore the living world through hands-on discovery and creative play. With Herbal and Nature Educator Catharine Kendall Hannoosh , children will learn to identify local plants, understand their healing properties, and transform them into magical “potions”—building both scientific understanding and a sense of stewardship for the plant life thriving in Prospect Park . Alongside Art and Early Childhood Educator Elisha Georgiou , children will dive into sensory-rich artmaking, combining natural and traditional materials to create expressive story worlds inspired by their discoveries outdoors. Paper making, natural dyes, sticks, stones, plants and clay will be foraged from the earth and incorporated into children’s creative processes. Through curiosity and collaboration, they connect deeply with nature and one another. In an age of screens and AI, creativity and outdoor play is what keeps us human. These joyful experiences help children grow into compassionate, curious thinkers who care for the Earth, themselves and each other.
