ANNOUNCING OUR 10TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY CAMP To celebrate 10 years, we’re offering 10 weeks of summer camp: our Top 10 Weeks yet. FOR KIDS, PRETEENS, AND TEENS! Camp enrollment is for full weeks: Summer Preteens Camp ☀ Cirque du Surréal Week ✦ Aug 31 - Sep 4 ✦ Last Week of Camp is Artshack's Biggest-Funnest Spectacle! The week explores the dreamlike and theatrical. Using clay as a primary material, students will create strange and playful forms inspired by the circus, dreams, and Surrealist ideas about the unconscious. Through prompts and games like 'exquisite corpse,' kids will combine unexpected parts, invent hybrid characters, and build sculptural objects. Exploring how dream logic, symbolism, and surprise can shape objects without needing to explain them. All students will learn how to work with clay, including one day per week on the pottery wheel, and will learn to use tools like the slab roller and the extruder. We have lunch on the patio outside Artshack, and often play summer games with water to cool down! At Artshack, we believe that creativity is more than just making art—it’s about the process of discovering, growing, and collaborating. Our programs are designed to help children refine their artistic voice while building resilience, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Whether hand-building with clay, creating a solar clock through solstice-inspired projects, or designing a kite for a windy day, every activity encourages kids to experiment, take risks, and build confidence. We emphasize that it’s not just about the final piece but the joy of creating, making mistakes, and trying new things. By providing a safe, supportive environment where campers can explore different media and engage with their community, we help them grow into well-rounded, creative individuals. We can’t wait to see what this summer holds! Cancellations made at least two weeks before the start of camp are eligible for a refund of any amount paid beyond the deposit. Cancellations within two weeks of camp are non-refundable, and we are unable to offer refunds, credits, exchanges, transfers, or make-up days for missed sessions. These policies allow us to plan responsibly, pay our Teaching Artists fairly, and secure materials and staffing in advance. As a small, independent arts organization, we can only offer these payment and refund options, and we appreciate your understanding and support. 10% Sibling Discount: If you enroll two or more siblings, you receive a 10% discount. Only one discount code can be applied to each order. ✤✤ We offer two tuition tiers to support fair teacher pay and cover costs, with scholarships for black and brown students.
