At Artshack, we believe art is an important tool for self-expression, problem-solving, and growth. This season, young artists will explore the world of clay, learning hand-building, the pottery wheel, and various tools. Alongside their clay work, they’ll engage in drawing, drafting, and sketching: essential practices that help children develop their ideas, refine compositions, and expand their creative thinking. Our teaching artists will guide students through a wide range of mixed-media techniques, including printmaking, felting, and sculpture. Each project encourages process-based art-making, where children experiment, make discoveries, and build confidence in their creative abilities. Get your hands covered in clay! This class is for all ages. This is a process-oriented class where participants can learn the basics of wheel throwing OR hand-building . These classes are taught by some of our awesome working members . No glazing takes place in this class. Your piece will be fired and glazed by our team, and you will be notified when your finished piece is ready for pick up! DISCLAIMER: We do not accept parties for this class. You are able to sign up with a group, but we cannot make extra accomodations or change the structure of the class. If you'd like to book a Kids Clay Party please inquire at https://www.artshackbrooklyn.org/studio/clay-parties. DETAILS - CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OLD WILL BE HANDBUILDING ONLY. - If you are attending to assist your children/family and do not plan to work on your own wheel/make something, you do not need to pay for yourself - Maximum capacity for this class is 10 sign ups - Kids under 2 participate for free - No adults may take this class unless they are accompanying a kid under the age of 18 CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: If you wish to receive a refund for a One-Off, Date Night or Family Clay Time class, your request MUST be received 3 days prior to the day of your class.
