At New York Society of Play, we use games and the power of play to teach social and emotional skills! In our weekly workshop at NEST+m, we play fantasy games while practicing concepts like trust, respect, and consent!On Tuesdays, join us for Fantasy Frontier and Dungeons & Dragons! At the start of the day, NEST+m students participate in Fantasy Frontier; an NYSoP original game! In FF, students play collaborative and competitive games outdoors using foam swords and magical trading cards! FF allows kids to team up, collect cool treasures, and power up!After a bit of exercise, it’s time for Dungeons & Dragons! Dungeons & Dragons is a popular fantasy roleplaying game played with paper, pencil and dice. Students will play-act as a main character in a season-long tale of intrigue, adventure, and exploration. D&D supports logic & reasoning skills, as well as literacy & creative writing skills!
