Little Explorer (Level 1)

Wed, May 13 · 11:00 AM

Fort Lee Location (Early Age Studio)

This is a Montessori-based program designed for toddlers and preschoolers. (Recommended 1,5 years to 3 years) It supports and stimulates your child's early development and school readiness. We use a variety of authentic Montessori materials, techniques, methods, and approaches as we encourage your child's growth in a fun and engaging learning environment. In this program, we follow four primary areas that provide the foundation for learning and development in a Montessori classroom. Practical life activities are designed to mirror real-life experiences that children will encounter in their daily lives. The Sensorial area of the Montessori classroom is designed to develop children’s skills in perception and discrimination. It includes live music and art. The Language area of the Montessori classroom builds early literacy skills by providing varied opportunities for children to develop communication skills and phonetic awareness. The Math area of the Montessori classroom is characterized by concrete, hands-on materials that encourage children to recognize numbers and quantity. With adult-led activities, we expand and develop your child's cognitive, social, emotional, communication, fine motor, gross motor, adaptive and sensory skills. The Little Explorer Level 1 program was designed to offer our young students everything they need at their developmental stage in one place. Children all develop at different paces, and they have different strengths and interests. While in a traditional education every child in the class must follow one path set out by the teacher, a Montessori education follows the individual child's interests using observation. Every activity, including transitions between activities, facilitates exploration as we teach your child to solve problems, understand and use language, explore his or her surroundings, develop hand-eye coordination and increase attention span and memory. We also provide peer play time to encourage social interactions. Likewise, caregivers are invited to participate, ask questions and learn more about childhood early development. New This Fall: Monthly Registration! Enjoy flexible, month-to-month enrollment—no long-term commitment required. We understand how unpredictable your little one’s schedule can be. You’ll be automatically charged on the 1st of each month. Cancel anytime—just give us notice at least one month before your next billing cycle. Make-up and cancellation policy: Make-ups are offered only for Baby Explorer Level 1, Baby Explorer Level 2 , and Little Explorer Level 1. No make-ups are provided for the Little Explorer Level 2 pre-k program and Camps . One make-up class per month is allowed. Late cancellation fee: If a client provides less than 24 hours notice and wishes to schedule a makeup class, 50% of the class fee will be charged and processed through their Sawyer account.

Sat, May 16 · 1:00 PM

Fort Lee Location (Learning Center)

Explore science, math, and art with LEGO bricks! Each week we will build an exciting new challenge, such as Layers of the Earth, with each child using LEGO bricks in their own unique style. What does our LEGO® Engineering program offer? LEGO® Engineering program includes a diverse curriculum that involves STEAM learning principles. It has both beginner and intermediate level lessons. One of the main goals of this program is to teach kids how to think like scientists as they build LEGO® models. In the class, we challenge kids with strategic questions to guide them through the process of applying science, technology, engineering, art, and math skills and test their ideas to answer different questions. Furthermore, the building activities will reinforce the children’s creativity as we use LEGO® models in storytelling and acting. What is the structure of LEGO® Engineering Classes? Each lesson is structured according to a natural learning flow called the LEGO® Education 4C Approach, which promotes successful learning experiences and included 4 phases: 1. Connect (When we share stories/discussions to spark curiosity and prepare for new learning) 2. Construct (The children will participate in a hands-on building activity creating models of people, places, objects, and ideas) 3. Contemplate (The most important phase, when we reflect on what we’ve built, talk about it, and share insights they have gained) 4. Continue (We expand newly-acquired knowledge in our new related builds) What is LEGO® Education and how LEGO® Engineering classes benefit your kids? There are massive benefits for children when it comes to learning and actively participating in LEGO® Engineering program. Some of these benefits include 1. Hands-on multidisciplinary learning. 2. Critical thinking, logic, and reasoning. 3. Understanding and application of STEAM concepts: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. 4. Promotes creativity and outside-of-the-box thinking 5. Promotes Literacy. 6.
